This iPad with keyboard play through case is another item in the “Dragon Smoke” light weight line from Dragonthorn Leatherworks. The customer that is using this baby specifically wanted a rustic/rugged, light weight, no frills case to carry both his iPad and his Logitech Ultra-Light Keyboard. What makes this case a bit different is that it is indeed “light weight”. So many iPad and Tablet cases on the market made to carry both the tablet and keyboard are so over designed that they are bulky as well as heavy. Electronics are heavy enough all by themselves so you really don’t need additional leather or layers that are not necessary. This case...
Read MoreLeather Document Envelopes are perfect for many things. This particular model is for documents that you keep in the glove compartment of your car. I drive a VW Mark IV R32 (For those of you that may not know this car is a GTI on steroids. V6 Racing motor, all wheel drive, all the bells and whistles). These cars are only made every 4 years and are limited to a production run of 5000. Why am I telling you this? It’s a collectors car. Comes with a really nice notebook for the manuals and stuff but no way to keep up with your service records and such, until now. I felt a need to have something that matched the rarity of the car when I needed to pull my records while...
Read MoreThis Light Weight Portfolio is the first in a new line of Dragonthorn Leatherworks products. The customer that ordered this portfolio requested something he could not find (like many of my customers). He wanted a portfolio to hold a standard 8.5″ x 11″ legal pad that was very simple. Little to no stitching, no lining, no pockets, no pen loop… just plain and simple “high end” leather crafting. He as well wanted the portfolio to closely match a leather briefcase he already carried. I developed this portfolio by utilizing 3-4oz. vegetable tanned tooling leather (light weight, flexible and dyes well), grooved the center with 3 channels to allow...
Read More“Chefs Knife Bag (Roll-up)”, where else are you going to store and carry those insanely nice food prep knives you’ve bought? These pics are a bit older so I offer my apologies. This particular piece was custom made for a chef in Belgium. His wife was looking for something that none of his buddies had so she called me … from Belgium! Don’t mind the knives, not a good as professional chef’s use but they work fine for me and my tries at cooking good stuff. This is a particularly large piece as it is designed to carry 20 different knives and roll up into a “hang off your shoulder” bag to carry from kitchen to kitchen or home...
Read MoreFountain Pen Case, hard shell and custom made. It does not get any better than this for the discerning fountain pen collector. I was contacted by a client in Toronto looking for something just a little bit different. He forwarded me a few photos of cases he likes along with this comment, ” I can’t find anything outside of Japan that isn’t junk (sort of cheap leather and all floppy). Your stuff looks fantastic and high quality”. Well, I am always up for a challenge and thought to myself, “self, let’s ramp this way up!” The ramp-up? A layered piece of custom molded kydex giving this Dragon Leatherworks pen case practical...
Read MoreThis leather belt bag is a clone of a “Herz” belt bag made in Japan. The customer wanted a Herz bag style but made in the USA (God Bless him). I took the basic design and added additional closure size options. The bag is made from medium weight, medium brown oil tanned leather. The fittings are all brass and the closures are a small Sam Brown Stud. The bag itself is approximately 5″ wide by 6″5″ tall by 1.5″ thick when empty. It contains two pockets which are stitched and riveted together for strength. The belt loops are secured to the bag with two 1″ brass rings and can be unfastened for easy attachment to your belt. The...
