Pipe Bag Orikawa

Pipe Bag Orikawa

Pipe Bag Orikawa you say! Well, taking the definition of “Origami” (In Japanese, “ori” means “folding” and “gami” means “paper” so it stands to reason that a folding pipe bag made of leather would be “ori” for folding and “kawa” meaning leather… Orikawa). I should state right up front that if I’ve got this wrong I would appreciate being corrected by anyone speaking/reading/writing Japanese. I was contacted a while back by Chris Lee, owner of iBriar.com with an idea he has been considering for a high-end pipe bag that could be configured in various ways. As normal with custom...

Double Pancake Cell Phone Case

Double Pancake Cell Phone Case

Double Pancake Cell Phone Case… a what? Another very unique item from Dragonthorn. I have made these in the past for folding knives and the latest knife sheath was made out of deerskin for a customers fathers day present for her Dad (you can view it here). The customer receiving this baby carries his personal phone, an iPhone 5 in a Lunatik Taktik Extreme case, and his business phone, a BlackBerry Bold daily. I’m not sure how many of you have this same situation (carrying two phones daily) but I do have personal experience with it and it’s a royal pain in the butt!. The client saw my deerskin case (linked above) on the web and thought, “hey, this...

Leather Document Envelope

Leather Document Envelope

Leather Document Envelopes are perfect for many things. This particular model is for documents that you keep in the glove compartment of your car. I drive a VW Mark IV R32 (For those of you that may not know this car is a GTI on steroids. V6 Racing motor, all wheel drive, all the bells and whistles). These cars are only made every 4 years and are limited to a production run of 5000. Why am I telling you this? It’s a collectors car. Comes with a really nice notebook for the manuals and stuff but no way to keep up with your service records and such, until now. I felt a need to have something that matched the rarity of the car when I needed to pull my records while...

Chefs knife bag

Chefs knife bag

“Chefs Knife Bag (Roll-up)”, where else are you going to store and carry those insanely nice food prep knives you’ve bought? These pics are a bit older so I offer my apologies. This particular piece was custom made for a chef in Belgium. His wife was looking for something that none of his buddies had so she called me … from Belgium! Don’t mind the knives, not a good as professional chef’s use but they work fine for me and my tries at cooking good stuff. This is a particularly large piece as it is designed to carry 20 different knives and roll up into a “hang off your shoulder” bag to carry from kitchen to kitchen or home...

Automobile Document Pouch

Automobile Document Pouch

The Automobile Document Pouch is a variation on the Document Envelope. My client owns a 2011 Z06 Corvette which has a red exterior with a black interior (He used to own a Mark IV VW R32, my baby). He wished to carry all Vette manuals and such in a more customized manner vs. the binder that came with the Vette. Due to the many manuals and such that are provided with the car we needed to increase the width of the pouch from the standard envelope width of .75″ up to 2″. Due to this is was necessary to use a gusseted side panel vs. the standard stitched sides in order to keep the pouch width accommodating for the glove box. The pouch is made with 3-4oz....

iPad Case Perfection

How many of you have been searching for the “perfect” iPad sleeve, case, pouch? We’ll, to me perfect means it’s exactly what you want. Everything in the place you want it, made out of the leather you want, not too bulky and really different. Looks like you just found it! I have been carrying an iPad 2 ever since they came out. Have tried every case and sleeve I can think of and although many are close, none gave me exactly what I wanted. Here’s my perfect sleeves description: Very thin, light weight, needs to hold my iPad, a small notebook, a pen and a stylus, a few business cards and a file folder. Thats it. Don’t need all of the...
