If any of you reading this are leathersmiths you can imagine the surprise in receiving a phone call asking for 7 custom chef’s knife rolls to be constructed and delivered in four weeks. Now, I am good but I do take my time. Four weeks? Done! Long days and nights in the shop but we pulled it off. The Snake River Grill in Jackson Hole, Wyoming had a 20th anniversary on June 11th and invited 5 chefs that had started out at the grill back for a celebration. I’ve been to Jackson Hole (used to be a big downhill skier in my younger days) but I’ve never been to Snake River Grill. Must admit though that from dealing with Jeff Drew, head chef, and in looking at the pics and menu I will most certainly stop by next time I am out that way (If I can ever get out of the shop). The seven knife rolls we created are shown in the pics below. Really enjoyed it as I was able to redesign my original knife roll-up a bit to hold 9 knives vs 19. You can read the details about the knife rolls here. Hopefully Jeff will send me some pics. If so, I’ll make sure to post them here.
Congrats guys! You deserve it and I hope you enjoy your spoils of war in the kitchen… DH
