Wow, what a long way we’ve come. I started being serious about this business about 15 years ago and got burnt out quick. At the time I was operating out of my garage and a very small room in my basement. My webpage ranking went from page 9,000 something to page one in 6 months. More orders than I had the equipment to handle. I stopped for a while, moved and now have a full shop to work out of. It’s a major difference working out of a garage in the winter with a jet heater blasting your ears out to a full sized 20 x 35 foot shop with “real” walls, central heat and air and carpet. Racks for supplies, two workbenches for tools and two tables for layout, cutting and dyeing… life is good. Have to say that my Bose sound system helps out a good bit. I work on leather and listen to music all day, blues mainly but I do like a bit of everything. I now have two sewing machines (big difference), various tools (the inventory keeps growing) and a fairly good stock of leather and such at most times.
Well, the reason for this post is to say “Thank You” to all of my customers. I built a new website and started back at page 9,000 something on the internet. Have now climbed back up to between pages 1 and 4 on most search terms and it is my customers that have helped get me back at the top. I don’t plan on going anywhere this time so keep an eye out for new projects and ideas from Dragonthorn Leatherworks. Well, back to the shop… Muddy Waters here I come… DH
