Can’t say that I have seen a “Custom” cell phone sleeve and cases out and about. If you think about it, this may be an area where you can really stand out. You can be as loud or as refined as you’d like. This sleeve is a prototype that has been in use for about a year now and is wearing very well. This particular sleeve is constructed of Iguana for the front, 1/2 oz. oil tanned leather for the back and calf-skin for the lining. The individual carrying this sleeve for the past year requested a simple sleeve which is easy to insert and extract the phone from. Custom options are many and include various facing materials (can be exotics or plain leather), various backs and can be lined with calf-skin, suede, or be left untouched. Cellphone cases can be made as sleeves or as belt cases, either vertical or horizontal with various clips, snaps and fasteners. As well I can hand carve names, initials or patterns into the leather itself. The limit is only bound by your imagination. Basic prices start at $125.00  DH

The Shop PCS is a project ordered by a welding shop owner in Georgia that got really tired of buying belt pouches for the items he used daily that kept wearing out. In addition, they were just ugly. The customer needed a belt carry PCS that carried his old Leatherman, a BIC pen that he just loved and a small MagLight. In addition he required a keyclip on the bottom for, well… you know… keys. He also required a matching cellphone case for his current iPhone and one he was looking to upgrade to. We chatted a bit and a further requirement was a leather that was stupid strong. This belt carry PCS is made of horse hide and is dyed a dark walnut brown. The fastening mechanisms are small brass Sam Brown studs. The red bonded nylon thread keeps it all together and adds a very nice decorative “punch” As you can see, to protect the phone, we have added a contrasting red pigskin suede in the cellphone pouch. Base price for this set is $280.00. I guarantee that this gentleman is the best dressed Welder in the market!  DH

What we have here is a Leather Pancake case constructed to hold an iPhone 6 enclosed in a Griffin Technologies Survivor. You may notice that with many/most cellphone cases coming out today they all have clips of some kind that add an additional 1/2″ to the case thickness once you place it on your belt. The nice thing about pancake cases is that due to the construction they lay very flat against your side. This particular case has been made for an attorney in Manhattan that wished the case to be very simple yet rugged. It is constructed out of 3-4 oz. vegetable tanned leather and is lined with a grey sueded pigskin. It is dyed black with Fiebings Professional Oil Dye. I constructed a hardwood mold of the Griffin Technology case in order to ensure that the Griffin case fit properly. The customer was kind enough to ship me the case to ensure a perfect fit. This case can be made to fit any phone and can be constructed in any color combination. This case is particularly useful to those that carry their phones in an “extreme crash proof” case and still require a slim method of placing it on your belt. This case was $150.00 as is plus shipping and handling.  DH

Cell Phone Belt Case by Dragonthorn. I carry this one personally as a prototype and love it so much that I am opening it up to custom orders. I carry a pretty high end phone (Nokia Lumia 920 running Windows Phone 8) and have never been satisfied with the leather belt cases on the market. The cases out there hold the phone sure, however, they just don’t have the pizzazz that I like to see. They also tend to be pretty thick and not formed to the phone. I developed this piece as I needed something in brown leather that reminded me of the old US Calvary belt pouches from the middle 1800’s.

This particular case is made from 3-4oz. vegetable tanned leather, dyed a rich deep cognac brown and is lined with calfskin. The fastening mechanism is a miniature Sam Brown Stud like those used in the 1800’s (but smaller). Mine is brushed/antiqued brass but the case can be made with nickel plated hardware if you prefer a natural steel look. I have also added a finger slot on the bottom of the case to make it easier to slip the phone in and out of the case but to be honest, I don’t use it much.

This case can be made with any leather and lined with any material you prefer. I tend to line my work with either calfskin, pigskin or suede as I prefer 100% leather products to come out of my shop. Colors are limited only by your imagination. As long as I can get the professional leather dye in the color you prefer I can make the case any color you’d like. The base price for the case as you see it is $145.00. I will make it unlined for $125.00. If you prefer a different clip, belt loop, etc., just let me know. Initials, signatures and/or pictures can be hand carved for an additional fee, just let me know. You’re perfect cell phone belt case has arrived!  DH
