Leather Belt Bag

Leather Belt Bag

This leather belt bag is a clone of a “Herz” belt bag made in Japan. The customer wanted a Herz bag style but made in the USA (God Bless him). I took the basic design and added additional closure size options. The bag is made from medium weight, medium brown oil tanned leather. The fittings are all brass and the closures are a small Sam Brown Stud. The bag itself is approximately 5″ wide by 6″5″ tall by 1.5″ thick when empty. It contains two pockets which are stitched and riveted together for strength. The belt loops are secured to the bag with two 1″ brass rings and can be unfastened for easy attachment to your belt. The...

Medieval Dagger Sheath

Medieval Dagger Sheath

The Medieval Dagger Sheath pictured above was commissioned by a young lady on the west coast that is very involved in the ren-faire circuit. She also happens to be a quite popular costumer and seamstress for ren-faires and cosplay conventions. As such she needed someone to make a sheath for a friend of hers. He recently aquired a 12″ dagger and she wanted to get him something special for it.  The sheath itself is made of 10 oz. vegetable tanned “pink” hide and dyed a very dark show brown using Fiebings professional oil dye. The sheath is lined with a tobacco colored pigskin and the lining is continued in the belt loop portion of the sheath. The design...

PCS Twins

PCS Twins

Not sure what to call this except “Twins”. In this PCS Twins set, the client wished to have the same (or close) PCS for his high end William Henry Knives, flashlight, lighter, pen and Swiss Army knives. One PCS will be “Office Carry” and one for “Weekend carry”. He will shift out the pen with the lighter depending upon the circumstances. In addition he wished to have a flap covering the Swiss Arny knife as he will be interchanging two different Swiss Army knives depending upon his personal preference for the day (one is thinner than the other). I also carved a “Lannister Lion” on the flap covering the Swiss Army knives. As...

Leather Wrist Brace

Leather Wrist Brace

This Leather Wrist Brace was made for a customer that pretty much beats his pharmaceutical braces to death. As I understand it he goes through one of the fabric braces monthly. Whether just beating it up or “setting it on fire” as he says while welding his custom drag cars, they just don’t last nor support his damaged wrist properly. Apparently other leathersmiths he has contacted to create this stated “it can’t be done”. We’ll, yes it can…see? “Bruzer”, as he is called. contacted me a while back with this request and was kind enough to mail me an old brace that I could use both as a pattern and for internal...

Tactical Flashlight Pocket Case

Tactical Flashlight Pocket Case

This Tactical Flashlight Pocket Case was made specifically for a “HDS Systems EDC Rotary Flashlight”. It is shown with my Surefire E2D Executive Defender as the HDS Light is way out of my budget level. The client wished for a case to either pocket carry or belt carry his HDS as in light of its size, although small, was a bit much bouncing around in his pocket. As the HDS light has a rotating bezel to adjust the light throw, I created two scalloped cutouts at the top of the case for easy light extraction and protection from an inadvertent “on” based on the customers request. The leather is 3-4 oz. vegetable tanned leather for better molding...

Pocket Watch Case

Pocket Watch Case

A Pocket Watch Case is a definite requirement for those that prefer to carry a pocket watch over a wrist watch. We were commissioned by an executive in the mid-west to create a custom leather pocket watch case with attached leather braided cord for one of his latest antique finds. Interestingly, we have recently been commissioned to make many leather items without having the actual piece that will be placed in it. We do this with exact dimensions, a lot of research and hand made hardwood molds. This watch case was no exception. As the watch is very valuable, the customer didn’t trust the transportation system to deliver this watch safely for a custom fit. (I have...
