Leather Wrist Brace

Leather Wrist Brace

This Leather Wrist Brace was made for a customer that pretty much beats his pharmaceutical braces to death. As I understand it he goes through one of the fabric braces monthly. Whether just beating it up or “setting it on fire” as he says while welding his custom drag cars, they just don’t last nor support his damaged wrist properly. Apparently other leathersmiths he has contacted to create this stated “it can’t be done”. We’ll, yes it can…see? “Bruzer”, as he is called. contacted me a while back with this request and was kind enough to mail me an old brace that I could use both as a pattern and for internal...

iPad with Keyboard Play Through Case (Dragon Smoke)

iPad with Keyboard Play Through Case (Dragon Smoke)

This iPad with keyboard play through case is another item in the “Dragon Smoke” light weight line from Dragonthorn Leatherworks. The customer that is using this baby specifically wanted a rustic/rugged, light weight, no frills case to carry both his iPad and his Logitech Ultra-Light Keyboard. What makes this case a bit different is that it is indeed “light weight”. So many iPad and Tablet cases on the market made to carry both the tablet and keyboard are so over designed that they are bulky as well as heavy. Electronics are heavy enough all by themselves so you really don’t need additional leather or layers that are not necessary. This case...

Writing Pad Folio

Writing Pad Folio

This particular “Writing Pad Folio” is made to fit a Moleskine Cahier notebook. It can be scaled to fit any notebook or writing pad, legal pad that you prefer to carry. This particular folio was made for a customer in California and was commissioned by his girlfriend in Alabama. Lot’s of coordination here between the Gulf Coast and the West Coast but I must say it turned out pretty well. The customer wished to have two notebooks with different initials hand-carved into the front right corner of the folio so he could tell them apart at a quick glance. The cover of the folio is made of 3-4oz. vegetable tanned leather dyed a saddle tan. The lining is...

Tactical Flashlight Pocket Case

Tactical Flashlight Pocket Case

This Tactical Flashlight Pocket Case was made specifically for a “HDS Systems EDC Rotary Flashlight”. It is shown with my Surefire E2D Executive Defender as the HDS Light is way out of my budget level. The client wished for a case to either pocket carry or belt carry his HDS as in light of its size, although small, was a bit much bouncing around in his pocket. As the HDS light has a rotating bezel to adjust the light throw, I created two scalloped cutouts at the top of the case for easy light extraction and protection from an inadvertent “on” based on the customers request. The leather is 3-4 oz. vegetable tanned leather for better molding...

Every Day Carry Dragon PCS – Pocket Carry System©

Every Day Carry Dragon PCS – Pocket Carry System©

The Dragon PCS© System for every day carry is probably the most difficult and yet the most simple to explain. Difficult, as the pictures show only a few of an infinite variety of possibilities. Simple, as the design and construction is only limited by what you carry daily in your pocket. The PCS featured above is one that was designed for a customer in France. For this one, I used 4-5 oz. horse hide, dyed a warm cognac brown and highlighted with contrasting orange stitching.  This PCS holds a small Altoids tin, a large Bic lighter, a Fisher Space Pin, a Derma Safe Knife, and has my signature slot for a guitar pick and coin.  Although I always think of this item as being...
